Sumatran Tiger


The Sumatran tiger is the smallest subspecies of tiger on the planet. They an weigh any where from 165-310 pounds. There are only about 400-500 left in the wild due to many causes, one of those being Habitat loss. Humans have cleared about 16.6 million acres of their natural habitat, giving them very little room to live. Another cause is wildlife trade. About 78% of Sumatran Tigers have died because of wildlife trade. The last cause is human and wildlife conflict. Many tigers are killed because they trespass on a farmers land and the only way to get ride of them is to kill them. The Tigers will also kill there cattle or livestock for food if they can’t find there own. The reason they kill livestock is due to the first cause of there endangerment, habitat loss. Please help save the Sumatran Tiger from compete extinction.
